Lesson 1

I don't actually have any books that go along with this post. It's just something I sort of picked up over the course of many books. Most of my post will have books attached to them, it just so happens that this one doesn't.

Rules are supposed to be broken.

No, I don't mean laws or the type of rules that will get you thrown in jail and/or prison. No one wants that.

I'm mainly talking about the applied social rules. The ones that are like 'don't make friends with the weird people.' or 'don't touch that.' Many things that are not supposed to happen, happen in books... I know that most of the time it is actually a good idea not to touch a certain item if it is clearly indicated. But in books, its a fabulous idea that will change the course of the entire world as we know it!

(But please don't actually touch things that are off limits... They are off limits for a reason)

As for the weird people (No I have not forgotten about my people) you always want to at least have a conversation with some of them. I am not saying that you have to invite them to the movies or to a sleepover. All I'm trying to say is, talk to one of them... Get to know them personally.
A lot of them are some of the funniest people you will ever have the chance to get to know. I had a friend, her name was Savannah. Let me tell you she would make these quiet snide remarks that if you weren't close enough, you would never have heard. One time she made a very shady comment on a book we were reading, and the teacher overheard her and could not even fathom that it was quiet little shy Savannah.

All in all, most social norms that you come across, be it weird people or if it's don't let the outsider into the group, its always because people don't like change. Change is a necessity in all civilized society, it just takes a little bit of work and people as a whole are lazy. Be active. Be the change.

About

All of these questions are asked when the topic of books are brought up. "Who reads book anymore?" "Who has the time to just sit and read?" "Why would I spend my time reading when I can just watch movies?" (nothing against movies, I promise)

I'll have you know you can learn so much from books, and no I'm not talking about the "for dummies" series, there are many thing that authors can teach you, so many thing that I have learned in the past three years that I wish I would have know when I was younger.  At a very young age I had a love of reading. Looking back now, it was mostly because my sister hated it. I loved to pick on her that I was smarter and more sophisticated then she was because I read books. Mind you, that was when I was six and she was seven and I was reading books like 'Green eggs and ham', 'where the wild things are' and couldn't even say sophisticated right.

Growing up, none of my family understood just how deep my love of books actually was. Every year for my birthday and Christmas I would always ask for money to buy books, after about three years of this, everyone just stopped asking what I wanted anymore I just got books and gift cards.  Which was fine with me, because reading was, and still is, my livelihood .

Books are my life line out of earth, out of this reality. Books can take you to distant make believe lands and cause you to fall in love with not only the characters but also the situation. Books can cause you pain just as much as as they cause you joy. With just a few words an author can tare your heart out. But mostly it can teach you lessons that you can use to better yourself. Lessons like, don't trust every word someone says, try to follow your heart, and drugs are bad. That last one is a universal lesson. Everyone should know it. In this blog I will tell you about some of the lessons I have learned from reading.
