About

All of these questions are asked when the topic of books are brought up. "Who reads book anymore?" "Who has the time to just sit and read?" "Why would I spend my time reading when I can just watch movies?" (nothing against movies, I promise)

I'll have you know you can learn so much from books, and no I'm not talking about the "for dummies" series, there are many thing that authors can teach you, so many thing that I have learned in the past three years that I wish I would have know when I was younger.  At a very young age I had a love of reading. Looking back now, it was mostly because my sister hated it. I loved to pick on her that I was smarter and more sophisticated then she was because I read books. Mind you, that was when I was six and she was seven and I was reading books like 'Green eggs and ham', 'where the wild things are' and couldn't even say sophisticated right.

Growing up, none of my family understood just how deep my love of books actually was. Every year for my birthday and Christmas I would always ask for money to buy books, after about three years of this, everyone just stopped asking what I wanted anymore I just got books and gift cards.  Which was fine with me, because reading was, and still is, my livelihood .

Books are my life line out of earth, out of this reality. Books can take you to distant make believe lands and cause you to fall in love with not only the characters but also the situation. Books can cause you pain just as much as as they cause you joy. With just a few words an author can tare your heart out. But mostly it can teach you lessons that you can use to better yourself. Lessons like, don't trust every word someone says, try to follow your heart, and drugs are bad. That last one is a universal lesson. Everyone should know it. In this blog I will tell you about some of the lessons I have learned from reading.
